CITY

A walk on the Venetian canals is the dream of any traveler, more quiet or nonconformist. Only when it comes to the canals, does anyone’s imagination build, without hesitation, a representation of the Italian city, with curved bridges, under which steamboats or gondolas pass, carrying the joys and sorrows of hundreds of lovers. Famously built on 117 tiny islands, Venice is linked by more than 150 canals and 400 bridges. But geography says that the city is actually sinking as water levels rise every year. Hence, before any such mishap happens, we give you the opportunity to visit this marvelous city.

Venice is small and lovely, perfect to be explored by foot or…by gondolas. Historic and gorgeous. Venetians fit the Italian profile. They speak the language, eat pasta, dress impeccably and love opera. And yet, they are different. They have built no walls around their old city, have sacrificed cars for gondolas and generally look outward rather than inward for artistic inspiration” (the Venice Biennale is a modern-day continuation of this mindset, but we will talk a little bit later about it).

"JUST WANDER…GET LOST IN VENICE – GET LOST IN ITS IMPOSING ARCHITECTURE."

CULTURE

The culture of this historic city is vibrant and intriguing. The city has been referenced in numerous films, songs, novels, poems, all of which have helped Venice spread its allure worldwide. Beautiful Venice hosts a large number of cultural festivals.

Every year, the Carnival of Venice is the time when people wear the famed Venetian masks, while other big events are taking place also in the unique city, such as the Venice Film Festival, the Venice Biennale, the Festa del Redentore and many more. The taste of the city is known by eating seafood, sweets and by drinking wine too. Famous for its Venetian Gothic architectural style, dating back to the 14th century, these elements, among others, are the things that make you want to see Venice through your eyes.

ARHITECTURE

The lagoon city itself is a work of art. For instance, the Byzantine influence is very strong and is instantly recognizable everywhere in Venice among Gothic and Renaissance influences. Architecture lovers are welcomed often to sink in the beauty of the place and be inspired by the marvelous looks of the city.

Its unmatched wealth of fine buildings and monuments dating from the period of commercial dominance has ensured a keen and almost universal desire for sensitive conservation. This concern for conservation is now extended not just to the city’s monuments but to the very city itself. The visitor arriving in Venice is to this day, transported into another world, one whose atmosphere and beauty remain incomparable.
